Advice for Trustees.

Trusteeship is in a very responsible and occasionally difficult position. Life is not so simple as monitoring events –

A potentially difficult balance is required given the conflicting demands of investment return (and hence contribution input) and investment risk. Necessary consideration of the sponsoring company covenant is not an ideal starting point.

Adviser, manager and administrator costs and service may cause concern. Change may be disruptive and represent a step into the unknown. The cost of change may be frightening. Vested interests and lack of an independent challenge may mask fundamental problems.

Distributing benefits that have trustee discretion may lead to agonising choices - how predictable was that ill health, or should we pay to family or nominated friends, spouse or new lover, children or estranged partner.

In this situation I can offer –

  • Advice, assistance, training and support on investments.
  • Support for projects, a special event or major change support eg - a scheme merger, bulk transfer, wind down or wind up.
  • Training - one off or regular support.
  • Expert/second opinion
  • Communications and liaison with all stakeholders

Expert assistance, an independent view and a cost effective solution areavailable. Please call to discuss any potential situation or problem. A typical assignment might involve a free initial discussion, agreement of remit and remuneration, information gathering, agreed stakeholder discussions, brainstorming, a discussion report and debate followed by a formal presentation and recommendations. Assistance in the management of any emerging actions is of course also available.
